Today’s Chronological Bible Reading: (today)

Title:  “Keep Your Eye on My Plan ”

Texts:   Daniel 12; Matt. 24 & 25   [No man knows the day or time, but many will wonder and some will be ready, and the wise will understand.]

A few questions to consider:

  1. What word might best describe Daniel’s journey of faith? Focused, Confused, Hard, Luxurious, Scary, Confident. Daniel 2:17-19; 4:9; 7:15-16,288:15; 8:17; 8:27; 9:3; 10:12; 10:8; 10:16,17; 12:8-12
  2. How would you feel if you were…A. …Daniel, exiled from home as a boy, imprisoned for his faith as an adult, respected by unbelievers for his wisdom and then when he asked the angel, “O my lord, what shall be the outcome of these things?” 9 He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end.”

B. … one of the Twelve Apostles, you had walked away from everything to follow Jesus, he tells you the Temple will be destroyed and then He tells you with several stories that no one knows when He will come again.

3.  With so much evidence that no one can know when the second coming will come why do you think so many people have tried to predict His coming?

4.  From these passages it seems the real point is… just be ready for Him. Is there any indication in these Scriptures of how we can prepare so we will be ready?
